Italiaans modehuis Miu Miu opent pop-up club in Londen

Het Italiaanse modehuis Miu Miu heeft gisteren een pop-up club geopend in Londen. De club is alleen toegankelijk voor exclusieve, vaste gasten en is ter ere van de heropening van het Café Royal Hotel op Regent Street 5 december.

De club is een combinatie tussen een privé winkel, bar, restaurant en club waar gasten genieten van een prachtige cocktail en tegelijkertijd de mooiste couture kunnen kopen. In het winkelgedeelte is de laatste collectie, inclusief limited edition in samenwerking met designers Vivienne Westwood en Stephen Jones verkrijgbaar.

‘s Avonds verandert de bar in een echte club waar dj’s zorgen voor goede muziek en gasten heerlijk kunnen dansen. Een klein nadeel: de pop-up club is alleen open van 27 tot en met 29 november 2012 in het Café Royal Hotel in Londen.

Het wereldberoemde Colosseum in Rome mag niet meer van dichtbij bekeken worden. Een afsluiting rond het monument moet toeristen tegen vallende brokstukken beschermen.

De Italiaanse media meldden woensdag dat een veiligheidszone van 6 tot 15 meter rond het antieke monument afgezet wordt. ‘De maatregel is noodzakelijk omdat we het risico niet willen lopen dat er brokstukken terecht komen op de toeristen. Net als alle andere antieke monumenten is ook het Colosseum fragiel’, vertelde de opzichter van de Romeinse monumenten aan de krant La Repubblica.

Eind juli werd aangekondigd dat het monument gerestaureerd zal worden. De restauratiewerken, die in totaal 25 miljoen euro zullen kosten, beginnen normaal gezien in december en zullen doorgaan tot 2015. Het monument blijft tijdens de restauratiewerken wel toegankelijk voor toeristen.

De Romeinse autoriteiten willen bovendien een ministerieel besluit opstellen om op te treden tegen illegale straatverkopers die in de buurt van het monument opereren. In het verleden probeerden de autoriteiten al zonder succes te voorkomen dat valse gladiatoren tegen betaling met toeristen op de foto gaan.

Het Colosseum werd gebouwd in de eerste eeuw na Christus en diende voor gladiatorengevechten en publieke executies. Het populairste monument in Italië was vorig jaar goed voor zo’n 5 miljoen bezoekers.

Prendete una ciotola e mettete dentro le uova e lo zucchero, sbattete bene e poi unite la nutella, il burro fuso, la vaniglia, la farina, il lievito e infine le noccioline tritate. Imburrate e infarinate uno stampo rettangolare e versate il composto, poi cuocete i brownies in forno preriscaldato a 180°C per 35 minuti circa.

Preparate una glassa molto densa usando zucchero a velo, albume e colorante alimentare verde. Lavate le fragole, asciugatele benissimo e poi mettetele da parte. Con un tagliapasta ricavate dei dischetti o dei quadratini con i brownies. Su ogni brownies mettete una fragola con la punta rivolta verso l’alto.
