Vespa LX 50 - 4 Valvole (bij Die Haghe)
This recipe for stuffed olives was a dish I had requested my mother teach me as it is a specialty from my dad’s home town of Ascoli Piceno in the Marche region of Italy. These stuffed olives are truly amazing and after tasting these you will never feel the same about olives again! I plan to make these a lot in the future as they are perfect at a dinner party and will always impress.
Olives are a gastronomical symbol of Ascoli Piceno in Italy.
In the 18th century the ingenious cooks from this small town in Marche had the idea to stuff and fry the big olives, and so came to light a new discovery. This labour intensive specialty used only the ‘Tenere Ascolane’ olives which have a flesh that is particularly soft and sweet and a small stone making it perfect for stuffing.

Rare plants, enchanting ruins and the tinkle of waterfalls: the English-style botanical oasis of Ninfa near Rome is a secret idyll billed as “the world’s most romantic garden”.
The exquisite garden dates back to the late 19th century when the aristocratic Caetani family took over lands deserted for centuries including Ninfa, a town that was abandoned in the Middle Ages.
The town once had 150 homes and seven churches — a stopping off point for pilgrims and merchants on the ancient Roman Appian Way — but was ravaged by a civil war before becoming an artistic haven.
“Ninfa is not just a garden, it is a long cultural history,” said Lauro Marchetti, head of the Roffredo Caetani Foundation, which manages the garden some 70 kilometres (44 miles) from Rome.

The trend of demanding that the objects we surround ourselves with not only perform a specific function but also tell us a story and re-evoke atmospheres and emotions, sometimes taking us to worlds we know only through images that fashion or cinema have suggested, is a very recent one. And in line with this trend, Guzzini has decided to put the creation of a collection with a design inspired by the neoclassic, with thick materials and select colours in the hands of Angeletti Ruzza, to re-create atmospheres that have been lost, but not forgotten. Thus we have Belle Epoque, a range of products for mise en place, which comprises a set of dishes, a vast range of glasses, a carafe and serving tray.
