Italian showgirl Elisabetta Canalis, better known to foreign audiences as the ex-girlfriend of George Clooney, will be tying the knot – just like her ex – in September in Italy. 35-year-old Canalis will marry orthopedic surgeon Brian Perri in Sardinia, where she was born, on Sunday. Just last week, Clooney announced he would marry fiancée Amal Alamuddin in Venice in late September.

While working on a project to install a heating network, right next to Milan’s Cathedral, remains of an ancient wall have resurfaced. The remains suggest an entire city, possibly dating back to the 16th century, or even earlier, is hidden there, and nobody knew anything about it until now. Work has been halted while experts date and evaluate the discovery. The installation of the pipes to provide heating for the Archbishop’s palace and for the Museo del Novecento was scheduled to be completed before the beginning of Expo 2015, next April.

Ook in ons eigen Concertgebouw in Amsterdam wordt door topartiesten gezongen. Op 23 september staan drie grote operasterren op één podium! NIJMEGEN – Het Nijmeegse stadsbestuur twijfelt nog of Nijmegen de finishplaats wil zijn van de eerste etappen (en mogelijk ook de startplaats van etappe 2) in de Giro d’Italia van 2016. “De ambitie is er nog steeds, maar financieel wordt het een moeilijk verhaal”, zegt wethouder Ben van Hees.
