Italy’s public transport trade unions have a called a national strike on Friday 14 November. The action will affect air and sea transport across the country, from midnight on Thursday 13 November until midnight the next day. Those flying with Alitalia on Friday are advised to check with their ticket office whether their flight time will be affected. The protest also involves Ferrovie dello Stato, the state-owned company that manages the national rail network, whose national and regional train services will be affected from midnight on Thursday until 21.00 on Friday. The strike is expected to cause disruption to local public transport in Rome where buses, trams, metro and light rail services Roma-Lido, Roma-Giardinetti and Roma-Civitacastellana-Viterbo are likely to be reduced on Friday during the usual strike hours: 08.30 to 17.00 and from 20.00 to end of service. Employees of Rome’s regional and suburban coach services may also engage in the strike during the same hours, while the city’s 27 night buses between Thursday and Friday could be affected. In the market for a Ferrari LaFerrari but put off by the compromises of a street-legal car? According to Top Gear, the Maranello company is building a 1050-hp track-only LaFerrari XX that will launch in Abu Dhabi next month. Fly your private jet down to the UAE and have a gander.Top Gear says company insiders confirm that the even-more-hyper version of Ferrari’s hypercar will get a 100-hp boost over the roadgoing version. The power is gained from tweaking the car’s V-12 engine—the battery-powered half of the hybrid’s drivetrain maintains its stock output at 161 horsepower.As with Ferrari’s other XX-labeled products, this über-LaFerrari is a track-only machine. It has racing tires, aerodynamic enhancements, and a purposeful interior with a proper racing seat and harness. Like the Enzo-based FXX, each LaFerrari XX will live in Maranello even after purchase, looked after by Ferrari’s technical team, and each will be shipped to eight races a year for their owners to get the most out of them. “We don’t want them going to collectors,” the Ferrari insider told Top Gear. “We want them to be driven.” The track beast will be unveiled at Ferrari’s World Finals in Abu Dhabi in early December.

Noodweer Noord-Italië echtpaar het leven

Noodweer in het noorden van Italië heeft een echtpaar het leven gekost. Het gaat om een 73-jarige man en zijn 69-jarige echtgenote. Hun lichamen werden vandaag gevonden onder het puin van hun huis in de buurt van de stad Genua. De woning was meegesleurd door een enorme nachtelijke aardverschuiving en het stel was enige tijd vermist.De Noordwest-Italiaanse regio Ligurië wordt sinds maandagavond getroffen door hevig noodweer.
