Avanzi di formaggio in frigo. E, soprattutto, avanzi di pane semi-integrale di Trecchina, Lucania. In arrivo per cena un'amica vegetariana. Mai come questa volta due più due fa davvero quattro. Una ricetta poverissima, contro ogni spreco e contro il logorio dei mercati moderni. Qui gli ingredienti non possono che essere senza dosi, che dipendono evidentemente da quello che avete da smaltire – fuori e dentro il frigo.

De Italiaanse schrijver, wetenschapper en filosoof Umberto Eco (84) is overleden. Hij stierf gisteravond, zo heeft zijn familie bekendgemaakt.Eco brak in 1980 door met De naam van de Roos, een complexe, historische misdaadroman die speelt in een klooster in de veertiende eeuw. Eco maakte tijdens het schrijven tientallen tekeningen “om te zien hoe de personages bewegen” in de ruimten en het doolhof van het klooster. Wereldwijd zijn er miljoenen exemplaren van verkocht en in 1986 werd de roman verfilmd. Andere bekende boeken van hem zijn De slinger van Foucault (1988), Het eiland van de vorige dag (1994) en De begraafplaats van Praag (2010).
