Italy: Parmesan producers decry soaring sales of ‘fake’ cheese



It is one of the world’s most copied cheeses – and those behind the original are not happy.


Hence a gathering in Italy’s northern city of Bologna on Thursday at which producers displayed what they said was a ‘rogues’ gallery’ of ‘fake’ Parmesan or ‘Parmigiano’ – complete with a fake cow to go with it.

Nederlanders zamelen 22.500 euro in voor fontein Rome

Verschillende particuliere acties hebben inmiddels 22.500 euro ingezameld voor het herstel van de Barcaccia-fontein in Rome. De fontein raakte beschadigd door Feyenoord-supporters voorafgaand aan de wedstrijd AS Roma - Feyenoord.De vereniging Salviamo La Barcaccia (Laat ons de Barcaccia redden) houdt bij hoeveelk geld er in Nederland is ingezameld. Zo overhandigden scholieren van het Celeanum Gymnasium in Zwolle vandaag een symbolische cheque ter waarde van 3200 euro aan de gemeente Rome.
