ROCCO con BUSCEMI - O Sarracino (Bekend van de film Valentino)

Nature in all her dazzling beauty: Stunning new landscape photos capture the breath-taking countryside of Le Marche

Italian photographer Alessio Andreani captured beautiful shots of the European landscapes for a series of images

The 25-year-old says he often had ‘only a few seconds’ to capture the shot he wanted as the sun rose or went down

From the crisp, snow clad mountains to vivid bright blue seas, these breath-taking photographs capture the raw and arresting beauty of the natural landscape.

With subjects ranging from the morning sunrise to the dazzling night sky, the images - all of which were taken in France and Italy - catch these calm and tranquil settings in all their glory.

This picture, showing the Sibillini Mountains in Italy, was taken by photographer Alessio Andreani as part of a series of landscape shots taken throughout France and Italy

The awe-inspiring shots, taken throughout 2012, also manage to display the changing colours of the mountains and lakes, from oranges to yellows and purples to blues.

Mr Andreani, 25, who is from Italy, says he feels a ‘strong link with the land where I live’.

He added: ‘The sun has a massive impact on how the photographs will turn out; it is like one big flame of light.

‘Whilst photographing a lot of these images, I had only a few seconds to get the exact capture I needed, as the sun moves so quickly at sunrise.’

The stunning photographs of greenery were taken in the town of Castelluccio di Norcia and in the hills near Recanati in Italy, showing the landscape off to its best advantage.

Mr Andreani, who was born in Loreto, said: ‘Taking these photographs of the vast countryside was very relaxing for me; I was able to just walk and enjoy the moment.’

The images of the calm and eerie night sky were also taken in Italy in Mount Argentella and capture the Milky Way above the same town.

Mr Andreani added: ‘It was very quiet during the taking of these photographs, and because there was no moon, there were only the stars to light up the sky, making it seem so dark.’

In stark contrast to the pictures taken at night are the shots showing the precise moments of sunrise, which were taken at various places including Monte Conero and Tellaro in Italy, and Cannes in France.

Monte Schiavo “Sassaiolo” Rosso Piceno DOC (2010)

See on Scoop.it - Good Things From Italy - Le Cose Buone d’Italia

It is said that as interest in drinking Verdicchio has increased, producers in the Marche region of Italy are increasingly turning their back on producing red wines. The suggestion is that the Montepulciano grape that is oh so easy to ripen down in Abruzzo (and forms the basis for the majority of reds from the Marche) is more difficult to manage further north as it ripens so late and a tendency for producing flavours that are somewhat more rustic than the current fashion would like is not helping either.

However, this Monte Schiavo “Sassaiolo” from the troubled Rosso Piceno DOC shows that Marche can still produce impressive red wines and can do so at a price that makes them accessible to all.

50% Montepulcano and 50% Sangiovese, this 2010 Monte Schiavo “Sassaiolo” saw the grapes destined to become part of it manually harvested in late October, prior to fermentation and maturation in large, old oak casks. Now around two and half years after the harvest, this 2010 “Sassaiolo” remains the current vintage on release in the UK.

A fairly intense ruby red in the glass, this 2010 Monte Schiavo “Sassaiolo” offers and intense and characterful set of aromas as it is swirled in the glass. Leading with plum, over-ripe red cherry and prune aromas, the complexity of this “Sassaiolo” Rosso Piceno is further increased by the emergence of sweet spice and candied citrus peel notes as it develops. A declared 14% abv alcoholic content results in really quite pronounced alcoholic legs as this “Sassaiolo” settles.

Intense and ripe in the mouth, this 2010 Monte Schiavo “Sassaiolo” offers no shortage of seductively ripe fruit, alongside flavours of chocolate and sweet spices. Full bodied and featuring a ripe and gummy tannin structure, drinking this “Sassaiolo” Rosso Piceno is a little like drinking a liquefied plum pudding at Christmas! A good level of acidity prevents the ripeness of this “Sassaiolo” from becoming cloying and it finishes long, with lingering prune and chocolate notes.

Probably not a red that is suitable for prolonged maturation, this 2010 Monte Schiavo “Sassaiolo” should be drunk over the next three years.

Monte Schiavo “Sassaiolo” Rosso Piceno DOC (2010)

Score: 90/100 – A ripe, complex and thoroughly attractively styled wine, this 2010 Monte Schiavo “Sassaiolo” Rosso Piceno is just one reason why producers should not give up on red wines in the region of Marche.

Value for Money: 10/10 – Widely available at under £7 per bottle it is hard to think of this 2010 Monte Schiavo “Sassaiolo” as anything other than superb value.

Le Marche Cuisine is spreading across the world: Fabio Trabocchi will open Casa Luca before Fiola Mare

See on Scoop.it - La Cucina Italiana - De Italiaanse Keuken - The Italian Kitchen

Chef Fabio Trabocchi, who recently announced he would open a second restaurant, Fiola Mare in Georgetown, also is planning a third D.C. restaurant, called Casa Luca.

The 130-seat restaurant, scheduled to open this summer, will actually open before Fiola Mare, which is taking over a space previously home to an office and isn’t expected to open until late this year.

Casa Luca vino e cucina, taking over space recently vacated by Againn gastropub at 1099 New York Avenue NW, will be a more casual take for the chef, whose Fiola restaurant offers a higher-end menu and experience.

Casa Luca, which is named for the chef’s 9-year-old son, will feature a menu of “authentic and affordable” items from Trabocchi’s home region of Le Marche, Italy.

The menu will include flatbreads, antipasti and salads, homemade pasta dishes and grilled meats and fish, as well as modern takes on traditional rustic dishes, including mussels Alicia with tomato marinara, San Leo ravioli with greens, parmigiano, lemon zest and fresh herbs and a “braciole” pork chop with beans cacciatora style.

The restaurant will have several wines on tap, including red, white and sparkling selections. The wine list will include 20 offerings listed at $28 apiece.

See on Scoop.it - La Gazzetta Di Lella - News From Italy - Italiaans Nieuws

Natuurlijk, Brazilië is zoekende.

Est! Est!! Est!!! | Wijn | Ciao tutti - ontdekkingsblog door Italië

See on Scoop.it - Good Things From Italy - Le Cose Buone d’Italia
