Samen vertegenwoordigen ze een marktwaarde van 46 miljard euro.Maandagochtend werd bekend dat de Italiaanse brillenfabrikant Luxottica, onder andere eigenaar van Ray-Ban en Sunglass Hut, gaat fuseren met de Franse lenzenmaker Essilor, in Nederland onder meer bekend van Varilux.Het is een van de grootste grensoverschrijdende fusies ooit in Europa. De nieuwe combinatie zal naar verwachting een omzet maken van meer dan 15 miljard euro, aldus de twee bedrijven in een officiële toelichting. De combinatie heeft 130.000 mensen in dienst.

After decades of shameful neglect, the biggest mausoleum ever to be built by the ancient Romans is to be brought alive with a spectacular multimedia experience projected onto its 2,000-year-old walls.The Mausoleum of Augustus, located in the centre of Rome just a stone’s throw from the Tiber, was constructed in 28BC and became the last resting place of the eponymous emperor, as well as his successors Nero and Tiberius.
