Bij een plotselinge brand vanmorgen in het Italiaanse vakantiecentrum Pra’delle Torri in Caorle, vijftig kilometer ten noordoosten van Venetië, zijn bijna veertig bungalows compleet afgebrand. De vakantiegangers, onder wie Nederlanders, moesten pijlsnel vluchten om niet levend te worden verbrand. Hun hebben en houwen zijn in vlammen opgegaan. Volgens de lokale pers ontstond de brand nadat vier gasflessen zijn ontploft. Door de harde wind breidde het vuur zich snel uit. Onder de Nederlanders die moesten vluchten is Rudy Span, die werkt in het vakantiecentrum.

Fattoria Naturale bestaat naast een boerderij uit een winkel en een restaurant. Voorheen alleen te boeken voor groepen vanaf 14 personen of voor bruiloften, nu is op gezette tijden iedereen welkom, ook voor een lunch of diner-voor-2 (wel reserveren). Woensdagavond wordt er een diner geserveerd (25 euro) en op zaterdagmiddag is er een uitgebreide lunch (35 euro). Wij komen met z’n tweeën voor de zaterdaglunch en worden ontvangen in een oude schuur, omgebouwd tot restaurant. De Italiaanse Mariabeelden mixen prima met het Hollandse, boereninterieur. Op de stenen vloer staan een enorme houtkachel en een grote servieskast en de houten eettafels zijn voorzien van mooi tafellinnen. Eten bij de boer, op z’n Italiaans. Wat een sfeer!

Bastian Schweinsteiger won gisteravond de toss voor de strafschoppenreeks, maar de Duitse aanvoerder koos opmerkelijk genoeg om de penalty’s voor de Italiaanse fans te nemen. Zelfs de Hongaarse arbiter Viktor Kassai vroeg tot twee keer toe of de Duitser er zeker van was. Schweinsteiger miste zelf zijn strafschop, maar zag Die Mannschaft uiteindelijk zegevieren tegen Italië.

Da settembre, nel quartiere San Lorenzo, Carlo Monaco e Luigi Mantuano inaugureranno “Canapa Caffè”, un negozio che non vende solo materiali necessari per la coltivazione, ma tratta tutta la filiera, dal cibo, ai vestiti, alla birra e ai prodotti cosmetici. Oltre 90 metri quadrati per promuovere un utilizzo alternativo della canapa, quella Sativa, che fa bene alla salute e proviene da filiera certificata. “
