‘De zee is hier schitterend, ze is zo helder blauw. Net als… ja, net als jouw ogen. Nee hoor, grapje. Jouw ogen zijn natuurlijk nόg mooier!’Ja, het is duidelijk: ik ben in het diepe zuiden van Italië. In Tropea om precies te zijn. De hoteleigenaar Domenico van La Porta del Mare vertelt me (tussen de complimenten door) over de omgeving, het strand en zijn favoriete plekken. En dat is handig, want samen met de fotograaf Adriano en zijn assistent Fiorenzo ̶ beiden afkomstig uit Turijn en niet bekend met dit gebied ̶ zal ik een paar dagen verblijven hier in de tenen van Italië. Elke tip kunnen we dus goed gebruiken.
