Verdicchio harvest may begin next week (richly aromatic vintage expected)

Friday morning, we did a second round of sampling and analysis to decide when to start harvesting the grapes for the base wine for our sparkling wine.

We’ll probably begin picking next week but we still haven’t decided.

Sunday it rained, temperatures have dropped off a little, and the nights have become cooler.

In other words, we are seeing ideal temperature variation for the ripening of the grapes.

All of these conditions lead us to believe that we will have a vintage with rich aromatic character and finesse.
