Parmigiano Reggiano is the best cheese in the world for 2014, at least according to the World Cheese Awards contest, which was held in London this week. Juros from 26 nations choose among 3,000 cheeses from 33 countries, ranging from Australia to the USA, from South Africa to Northern Europe.The Supergold Award went to cheese from the Grana d’Oro Farm of Cavriago as well as other 21 medals (7 Golds, 7 Silvers and 7 Bronzes). The so-called ‘King of Cheeses’ was thus the highest award-winning PDO Cheese in the entire contest. On the other hand, the Bath Blue, from the United Kingdom, was judged outright winner of the 2014 edition.Read here more.
